Responsible for engaging Content IQ's audience across their websites Eternally Sunny, Boredom Therapy, Honest To Paws, and Her Moments.
Crafted entertaining and informative stories and lists using visual storytelling as well as creative writing, while mastering writing for a multitude of topics including, but not limited to, human interest, entertainment, celebrity reveals, history, humor, and animals.
Accountable for freelance work, which was a limit of three stories per week minimum.
Collaborating with editors on crafting stories from start to finish, and making changes where needed.
Scheduling zoom meetings to discuss progress with superiors
Taking many opportunities to pitch original ideas.
Diving into research for topics.

Achievements:

• 5 articles written every week (in a freelance schedule of roughly 18-24 hours total), many which covered trending topics; e.g. the life and legacy of Chadwick Boseman, Ashley Judd's near death experience in the Congo, as well as current human interest stories ("Middle-Aged Woman Learns The Stunning Truth Behind Her Adoption")

• Pitched original ideas often, two written and published; e.g. "Exotic Animals That Can Actually Be Pets, But Probably Shouldn't", "Little Known Facts About Chadwick Boseman Show The Actor In A New Light"

• Suggestions to article's focus and turns were helpful to editors and regularly approved

Updating Bookstr’s website with fun and engaging articles and lists through thorough research and friendly and creative writing.
Pitching original ideas.
Managing Editorial Department: editing and critiquing writers'; approving new pitches; researching ideas for content; occasionally assigning work; training newcomers; organizing documents, schedules, and office calendars; promotions.
Collaborating to create the best content, both within the Editorial department and across other departments (video, art, social media)
Maintaining open communication: speaking openly to writers about their writing, including their strengths and weaknesses, along with any original ideas they may have; regularly checking in with editors on any issues, on their work at large, and any ideas they may have for the company; speaking with other departments about content, Bookstr's audience, and any original ideas; regularly speaking to CEO about the company, concerns within company or within Editorial Department, and any important information.
